@freenode_digiberk:matrix.orgdigiberk do any of you use lineageOS microg? I've been using it for a bit but I soon felt that I didn't actually need microg. 10:11:46
@eighthave:matrix.org_hcyes10:17:19
@eighthave:matrix.org_hcmicrog isn't essential, but it does make some of the warts go away10:17:42
@eighthave:matrix.org_hcand the location services help quite a bit, if you use your device for navigation10:17:57
@freenode_izzy:matrix.orgizzy^^ that10:18:40
@freenode_izzy:matrix.orgizzy It's the only part of microG I actively use. And yes, my device runs los for microG. 10:19:19
@freenode_digiberk:matrix.orgdigiberkyeah, i forgot about that. osmand~ behaves nicely with microg10:20:18
@freenode_digiberk:matrix.orgdigiberk but also the fact that the lineage.microg.org builds come with f-droid OOTB, it's a nice touch. :) 10:20:40

and the location services help quite a bit, if you use your device for navigation
in what way does the location service help? Other than taking a long time to get a GPS connection the first time I don't really have any issues
10:47:30
@mathijs:matrix.vgorcum.comMathijs(ie it took a couple of minutes to get a GPS connection after installing lineageos, but usually gps is fast enough to start if you use it semi-regularly)10:48:52
@freenode_digiberk:matrix.orgdigiberk Mathijs: Are you using lineageOS with no microg? 10:55:02

It takes a long while after you travel to a different location as well. Depending on your GPS of course.
10:55:32
@mathijs:matrix.vgorcum.comMathijsagreed10:55:47
@mathijs:matrix.vgorcum.comMathijsbut I don't fly that far away often enough for it to be a major issue10:55:59
@freenode_digiberk:matrix.orgdigiberk How is it going for you? I found I didn't really need microG either. It just helps if you use stuff like whatsapp. 10:56:01
@bubuiic:matrix.orgMarcus (old)Also with the location service I can start navigating when still indoors where I rarely get a full GPS fix.10:56:10
@freenode_digiberk:matrix.orgdigiberkDo you use root?10:56:16
@mathijs:matrix.vgorcum.comMathijsIt's working really well for me10:56:16
@mathijs:matrix.vgorcum.comMathijsI don't have whatsapp, which helps10:56:26
@mathijs:matrix.vgorcum.comMathijsriot is usually reliable enough for me10:56:35
@mathijs:matrix.vgorcum.comMathijswithout push, I mean10:56:42
@mathijs:matrix.vgorcum.comMathijsand I do use root, but only for editing the hosts file10:56:55
@freenode_digiberk:matrix.orgdigiberk That's cool :) 10:57:08
@freenode_digiberk:matrix.orgdigiberkAlso, how are you liking riot?10:57:56
