@srr24x7:envs.netsrr24x7The issue is that the majority of our power is still produced with coal, gas, oil and NPPs23:19:33
@SylvieLorxu:matrix.orgSylviaNo energy production is 100% renewable. Windmills and solar panels and all still need maintenance and that still uses finite resources23:19:54
@enigma9o7:matrix.orgenigma9o7 (Old)NPP isnt so much of a problem, is it?23:20:00
@SylvieLorxu:matrix.orgSylviaSo we do need to also reduce23:20:01
@enigma9o7:matrix.orgenigma9o7 (Old)Even gas isn't awful, if you mean natural gas.23:20:09
@enigma9o7:matrix.orgenigma9o7 (Old)It's the coal and oil that aren't so great for long term survival of the planet.23:20:22

It is, if you recycle what you already have and remember that our planet doesn't even need zero carbon to begin with, trees would die if there was no carbon for them to transform :D
23:20:53
@srr24x7:envs.netsrr24x7The issue is not that we're producing CO2, it's that we're producing WAY too much23:21:16
@SylvieLorxu:matrix.orgSylviaWe can't recycle perfectly. There's a reason why "recycle" is the last entry is "reduce, re-use, recycle"23:21:29
@enigma9o7:matrix.orgenigma9o7 (Old)CO2 isnt a big problem is it?23:21:34
@srr24x7:envs.netsrr24x7Plus all the other waste too, not just CO223:21:34
@SylvieLorxu:matrix.orgSylviaBut even then, we use more energy than we can reproduce renewably23:21:44
@SylvieLorxu:matrix.orgSylviaWe need to reduce23:21:47
@enigma9o7:matrix.orgenigma9o7 (Old)My lawn eats CO2.23:21:48

That's just a technological issue.
23:21:57
@srr24x7:envs.netsrr24x7And in fact we're recylcing way less today than most people think23:22:11
@enigma9o7:matrix.orgenigma9o7 (Old)recently mcdonalds in my area switched to plastic cups instead of the old waxpaper cups, i was like wtf!23:22:22
@srr24x7:envs.netsrr24x7Less than 5% of goods are truely recycled23:22:23
@enigma9o7:matrix.orgenigma9o7 (Old)but, the reason is, they're recycleable23:22:27
@enigma9o7:matrix.orgenigma9o7 (Old)the old ones arent cuz of the mixed paper+wax, and apperantly it isnt even actually wax but some kinda plastic23:22:42
@srr24x7:envs.netsrr24x7Even if some companies pay a lot money for statistics that show numbers like "760%" or "80%"23:22:50
@srr24x7:envs.netsrr24x7 * Even if some companies pay a lot money for statistics that show numbers like "60%" or "80%"23:22:54
@srr24x7:envs.netsrr24x7Those are pretty much all fake and beautified23:23:09
@srr24x7:envs.netsrr24x7The truth is it's reall in the single digits23:23:32
@enigma9o7:matrix.orgenigma9o7 (Old)my city, where we have to bins, one for garbage/landfill and one for recycle (which includes eveyrthing, paper metal glass plastic), recently gave everyone bigger garbage bins23:24:15
@srr24x7:envs.netsrr24x7
In reply to @enigma9o7:matrix.org
but, the reason is, they're recycleable
That's probably a big fat lie, although I don't know the specifics.
23:24:21
@enigma9o7:matrix.orgenigma9o7 (Old)they said people were putting too much non-recyclables into the recycle bin23:24:25
@srr24x7:envs.netsrr24x7Hardly any plastics are really recycled.23:24:31
@enigma9o7:matrix.orgenigma9o7 (Old)and they t hought people are doing it cuz the recycle bin is big, and trash bin was smaller (unless you paid extra)23:24:58
@enigma9o7:matrix.orgenigma9o7 (Old)but now everyone gets the giant trash bin, to keep people from putting trash into the recycle bin23:25:09
