It's not really the responsibility of users to consider if message x, content y or function z works for what ever broken bridge. It's the responsibility of the room owner to get a working bridge for whatever other side they want to bridge.

If whatever system is on the other side doesn't allow for some equivalent of a sticker, then it can simply send the sticker content body which in case of the sticker I had sent earlier would be "Blobcat with no sign".
Mark it as [image/png] "Blobcat with no sign" et voilà done.
Technically there's no reason this couldn't be solved.
