FestplattenSchnitzel | In reply to @rdfg77:kde.org Android port of Nheko? Also see https://fosstodon.org/@franz@pantherx.social/109637502875484819 | 16:48:57 |
enigma9o7 (Old) | element isn't exacatly "high performance", it requires all the resources of a full fledged web browser | 16:49:13 |
enigma9o7 (Old) | but i mean yeah it performs well | 16:49:41 |
linsui | Sounds interesting. I'm not sure if it will have a native UI though... | 16:53:30 |
linsui | Will you package it for F-Droid? | 16:53:54 |
FestplattenSchnitzel | In reply to @rdfg77:kde.org Sounds interesting. I'm not sure if it will have a native UI though... It's QT so probably not. | 17:01:25 |
FestplattenSchnitzel | In reply to @rdfg77:kde.org Will you package it for F-Droid? I can try once the source has landed or merged into upstream … | 17:01:50 |

Sylvia | Wonder what the FSF is going to be doing now, given they explicitly say on https://www.fsf.org/twitter they refuse to run the non-Free JS and use Choqok | 22:19:23 |

Sylvia | Interesting, the Dutch government forced Logius to share the source code of the government authentication app DigiD under the EUPL. Sadly only a snapshot of it, which makes it useless in the sense of freedom as DigiD servers actively block authentication from old DigiD versions, but still an interesting move in the right direction however small: https://github.com/MinBZK/woo-besluit-broncode-digid-app | 18:37:31 |
Mathijs | fucking finally | 19:53:22 |
Mathijs | also: why is digid 1. not FOSS in the first place and 2. owned by a private company? | 19:53:56 |
Mathijs | stupid dutch government | 19:54:04 |
Mathijs | also also: 'first commit'? give me a break | 19:54:22 |
Mathijs | otherwise you're, of course, right | 20:30:17 |
Mathijs | it is a tiny stepo | 20:30:26 |
Mathijs | * it is a tiny step | 20:30:27 |
Mathijs | * it is a tiny step in the right direction | 20:40:56 |
Sylvia | Yeah it's definitely not good enough | 21:05:55 |
Sylvia | But it's definitely better than nothing | 21:06:00 |
Sylvia | If the person who managed to get this opened can just keep doing this occasionally we might be able to F-Droid this with small patches that are a huge pain to reapply every huge update like Telegram FOSS | 21:07:08 |
Sylvia | Would be something | 21:07:10 |
Mathijs | Also, C# 🤢 | 21:47:53 |
Sylvia | I think C# is quite nice syntax-wise. I like the design. I just don't like the implementation, I think NuGet is way overcomplicated for example and the strong Windows dependency on everything makes the language a problematic choice. If C# was properly cross platform, I think I might prefer it over Java. But it's not, no matter how much Microsoft says .Net Core is cross platform. Because .Net Core is an almost unusably small subset of the language | 21:59:04 |
Mathijs | Its mostly the fact that c# is joined at the hip to microsoft that makes me dislike it Isuppose | 22:07:54 |
Mathijs | * Its mostly the fact that c# is joined at the hip to microsoft that makes me dislike it I suppose | 22:08:09 |
Mathijs | I have no strong feelings towards the technical details of the language | 22:09:29 |
