@eighthave:matrix.org_hcok, doing a test run09:58:52
@uniq:matrix.orgmichaelI've registered an virtual F-Droid booth in the 2d world for the up-coming remote chaos computer club conference. It's germanys main hacker conference and If you're interested in hanging out with all sorts of it-professionals/computer geeks/artists/hackers/free software advocates/etc. this conference might be interesting for you too. It's free to attend but you'll need a ticket to participate.10:40:55
@uniq:matrix.orgmichaelTicket registration will start in 20 minutes at: https://tickets.events.ccc.de/RC3-21/10:41:23
@eighthave:matrix.org_hc michael: thanks, is that open to anyone, or only previous CCC attendees like before? 10:54:47
@_oftc_jochensp:matrix.orgjochensp _hc: open to everyone (like before) 10:55:55
@eighthave:matrix.org_hcah, so the online version is open to everyone10:56:13
@_oftc_jochensp:matrix.orgjochenspyes10:56:17
@_oftc_jochensp:matrix.orgjochensptickets are 0 €10:56:22
@eighthave:matrix.org_hcI've only been to CCC once and in person as a speaker10:56:23
@_oftc_jochensp:matrix.orgjochenspwe met there ;)10:56:33
@eighthave:matrix.org_hc:)10:56:46
@eighthave:matrix.org_hcanyone know how they are handling kids in the online version?10:57:15
@eighthave:matrix.org_hcI had to get tickets for the meat space one10:57:37
@_oftc_jochensp:matrix.orgjochensp bots are free, I don't think there is a kindergarten ;) 10:59:12
@_oftc_jochensp:matrix.orgjochenspI guess one ticket per household is enough, unless you want to spawn multiple avatars11:01:49
@uniq:matrix.orgmichaelThe conference has 2 main features:11:15:02
@uniq:matrix.orgmichael
  • video streams of talks, which are probably uninteresting for kids.
11:15:12
@uniq:matrix.orgmichael
  • A 2d world build in a web based game engine and jitsi for meeting and talking to other participants. Last year there were not kids installations AFIAK. There is however a game-aspect built into the 2d world. There are special hidden places and participants can collect badges by discovering them. I'm not sure if that's actually fun for kids though.
11:15:23
@eighthave:matrix.org_hcok, I ask because the 36c3 had an expansive kids section that worked for kids 5 and older11:18:11
@eighthave:matrix.org_hcok, it seems I registered11:24:33
@_oftc_jochensp:matrix.orgjochenspyeah :) (me too)11:26:01
@festplattenschnitzel:matrix.orgFestplattenSchnitzelI'm in as well.12:44:48
@eighthave:matrix.org_hc proletarius101: so now I'm stuck at the CMD. In order to run the provisioning it needs to start with CMD ["/usr/sbin/sshd", "-D"]. But then that doesn't make sense for using the container, it should have CMD "/bin/bash". Any ideas how to do that after? Should I just make a new Dockerfile with only FROM and CMD /bin/bash? 15:19:39
@j.r:chaos.jetztj.r michael: btw how does the virtual booth work? Does F-Droid get it's own part of the world? 15:19:42

I don't quite get it. Why it has to be CMD ["/usr/sbin/sshd", "-D"]?
15:21:45
@eighthave:matrix.org_hcprovisioning happens over sshd15:22:02
@proletarius101:matrix.orgproletarius101 and in which scenario you want to use CMD "/bin/bash" 15:22:23
@eighthave:matrix.org_hcactually running build once the image is done15:22:37
@proletarius101:matrix.orgproletarius101

let me guess the process

  1. docker build with buildserver/Dockerfile
  2. vagrant attaches to the container created with the image, and runs the provisioning script
  3. the container stops, and is saved to a new image
  4. you need to attach to the container and run /bin/bash when doing fdroid build
