The maintainer of andotp actually acknowledged the issue and said it's too hard to fix. So aegis is recommended. And actually I'm using authenticator pro since it's even more modern

proletarius101: what's the specific issue with andOTP?
If I remember it correctly, it's the encryption and security storage
07:48:58
@eighthave:matrix.org_hcah right, I'm not that paranoid yet that I need encrypted storage for the second factor07:49:26

ah right, I'm not that paranoid yet that I need encrypted storage for the second factor
So it could be stolen by other apps
07:51:35
@proletarius101:matrix.orgproletarius101For me at least it should store the key in a secure way07:52:11
@proletarius101:matrix.orgproletarius101Fingerprint authentication or so could be redundant07:52:27
@eighthave:matrix.org_hcmy solution is to only install trusted apps07:53:07

Even worse, you may live in Asia where certain mega apps are required for a living

Yep, I have to install them in Shelter but I don't know if it's useful.

At least it won't read your contacts and files

@rdfg77:kde.orglinsuiI thought it's time to include c# apps. We don't build ndk, sdk, RN or flutter. Why must we build c#?08:01:12
@proletarius101:matrix.orgproletarius101From https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2019/05/human-rights-watch-reverse-engineers-mass-surveillance-app-used-police-xinjiang you may have more insights of what big brothers are interested08:02:09

@proletarius101:matrix.orgproletarius101Yet we may build msbuild ourselves https://github.com/dotnet/msbuild08:06:19
