@freenode_izzy:matrix.orgizzyBtw: The devs of Amaze approached me personally today, asking me to list their app in my repo as F-Droid cannot update it anymore (due to the billing library). I complied, and suggested them to establish build flavors (and Fastlane). Curious how they decide.18:50:47
@freenode_izzy:matrix.orgizzyWould be nice to have Amaze up-to-date at F-Droid again (well, the summary is definitely outdated ;)18:51:36
@freenode_izzy:matrix.orgizzy Aw, commas saving lives, yeah… No threat. "Respond, what happens – to you not once I'm explaining everything" (I just inserted the "–", and how that changes the meaning…) 19:04:48
@freenode_izzy:matrix.orgizzySpanish grammar in English sentence read by a German (chuckles)19:05:23
@freenode_mvdan:matrix.orgmvdanhugs to both of you. sometimes people will just be asshats online.20:18:24
@freenode_wb9688:matrix.orgwb9688 izzy: What even is going on there? And I find his "English" hard to parse as well, plus there's no way you could've known about that hannana or whatever branch and he was quite rude? about it and I think that you didn't do anything wrong. 20:40:04
@freenode_izzy:matrix.orgizzy wb9688: thanks. Guess he was having a bad time. One of their crew locked out all other devs from their repo, so they had to fork in order to continue development. Not a nice experience. So he lost temper (by the name, he can claim the pre-judice of "Spanish temper"). I was just at the wrong place at the wrong time I guess. 21:30:15
@freenode_izzy:matrix.orgizzy But thanks confirming I didn't mess. I was already wondering where I might have taken the wrong turn. But as for the branch (and his claiming I should have done a better job at exploring): Some projects have dozens of branches. As pointed out: he knew the facts and could have put them into two lines – instead of binding an hour of time from a volunteer to figure. 21:33:08
@freenode_wb9688:matrix.orgwb9688Yeah, I totally understand how he could be upset about being locked out21:33:33
@freenode_izzy:matrix.orgizzy Well, I don't know what I had done in his shoes. So I'm fine with leaving it at that. He sounded cooperative now and seems to have calmed down (possibly is embarassed about the outcome ones "the brain kicked in again" and won over the blood pressure ;) 21:34:43
@freenode_izzy:matrix.orgizzy Shitty situation, so I won't feel offended anymore. Though I definitely felt. 21:35:22
@freenode_wb9688:matrix.orgwb9688 Yeah, I wouldn't have a bad attitude towards him anymore as soon as he calms down, as that's really a shitty situation 21:38:44

@freenode_wb9688:matrix.orgwb9688 Bubu: I installed fdroidserver from Debian's repo, but I'm getting "OSError while trying to execute /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/gradlew-fdroid clean: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/gradlew-fdroid'" 14:09:17
@freenode_wb9688:matrix.orgwb9688 Of course setting gradle in config.py to something else works, but I think it should just work out of the box when I install it from my distro. "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/gradlew-fdroid" doesn't exist in any Debian package 14:15:51
@freenode_wb9688:matrix.orgwb9688 What would be the way to locally verify that F-Droid could successfully build it with my (well, theSchabi's) signature? 14:24:38
@bubu:bubu1.euBubu wb9688: that sounds like the same packaging problem as this on arch: https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroidserver/-/issues/679 14:26:07
@freenode_wb9688:matrix.orgwb9688Sounds like the same problem indeed14:26:53
@bubu:bubu1.euBubu _hc: is doing the debian package I think 14:27:09
@bubu:bubu1.euBubuOr someone could look into fixing the underlying python packaging problem14:27:47
@eighthave:matrix.org_hc wb9688: currently no one is supporting fdroid build from any packages. fdroidserver from git works. 14:29:18
@eighthave:matrix.org_hcthis work is non-trivial and touches essential, brittle, and untested parts of the code14:30:16
@eighthave:matrix.org_hci.e. no test coverage14:30:25
@bubu:bubu1.euBubu wb9688: just running fdroid build <appid> should work, but you'd get more accurate results with a buildserver setup 14:31:50
@freenode_wb9688:matrix.orgwb9688Does fdroid build sign it using dev signature?14:36:25
@eighthave:matrix.org_hc fdroid build does not sign 14:36:57
@freenode_wb9688:matrix.orgwb9688 Well, that's what I was asking for and I thought that as well 14:37:35
@eighthave:matrix.org_hcany objections if I make fdroidclient 1.9 the CV?14:37:37
@eighthave:matrix.org_hcthere were only 4 crash reports for it, two duplicates14:39:54
@eighthave:matrix.org_hcwhich is good for an alpha release14:40:01
@eighthave:matrix.org_hcquite good14:40:04
