@SylvieLorxu:matrix.orgSylviaThat life is about learning and you should never stop learning and accept that you will always have more things to learn08:06:12
@SylvieLorxu:matrix.orgSylviaMight be an English saying, might be a translated German saying, no clue08:06:30
@rdfg77:kde.orglinsuiA saying, yes. But what does never was a student at all mean?08:08:18
@_oftc_Licaon_Kter[xmpp]:matrix.orgLicaon_Kter[xmpp]They were never learning in the first placu08:14:31
@_oftc_Licaon_Kter[xmpp]:matrix.orgLicaon_Kter[xmpp]*place08:14:36
@rdfg77:kde.orglinsuiSounds arbitrary 🤣08:15:42
@_oftc_Licaon_Kter[xmpp]:matrix.orgLicaon_Kter[xmpp] I think it's the idea that once you start learning you understand there's a lot more to learn. You can't just say "there, I know everything". 08:17:27
@_oftc_Licaon_Kter[xmpp]:matrix.orgLicaon_Kter[xmpp] And if you say that it means you actually didn't learn anything. 08:17:50
@rdfg77:kde.orglinsuiNot sure how I can convey all these means in my translation...08:21:10
@_oftc_Licaon_Kter[xmpp]:matrix.orgLicaon_Kter[xmpp]:)08:38:30
@SylvieLorxu:matrix.orgSylviaI think as long as you make clear "don't feel ashamed for losing the key, it happens, people make mistakes, just admit stuff honestly so it doesn't look like you're trying to hide stuff from your users" I think you got the most important part. But Izzy might know his intent better than me :)10:30:17

who ceases to be a student, never was a student at all

What does this mean?

Maybe you could replace this with the Socrates "I know what I don't know" thing? Or something that conveys the meaning that learning is never finished.

I don't want to change so much though. I hope that the translation still match the origin text.
11:57:14
@eighthave:matrix.org_hcI agree that sticking to the origin text is good. I think the ideal outcome is finding a native saying that matches the intent, but that's often not possible. IMHO directly translating saying ends up being confusing, but I guess not always terrible.12:18:45
@eighthave:matrix.org_hcFeel free to ping me to deploy whenever any of you have finished translating a blog post or doc or page.13:44:49

I think "learning is a journey that never ends" would be a way to express the same idea. I could be completely wrong here since I don't speak Chinese, just Japanese, but I think the meaning is similar to 道山学海

seems to be a quote by George Iles

When it says that custom repo can be setup, the first thing came into my mind is that F-Droid supports third-party repo. Well, this is mostly a client-side feature. With this in my mind, I find that it talks about some code. Ok, so it's not related to F-Droid. Then what's "it"? I'm confused here. When I re-read the sentence, I found that maybe the "it" means the F-Droid in the same sentence.
yes. its = F-Droid's. "Like the apps F-Droid distributes, all its code is free and libre, too." = "Like the apps F-Droid distributes, all F-Droid's code is free and libre, too." it's pointing out that not just all apps in our repo are FOSS but our own code (to run the repo etc.) is too, which means anyone can use our code to run their own repo. (one could of course set up a custom repo without using our code, but being able to reuse code is one of the advantages of FOSS).

@rdfg77:kde.orglinsui Mathijs (F-droid): What's the plan for the Telegram bridge? Do you have a Telegram account and will do that youself? Or we need to find a Telegram for that? 06:00:11

Wow, I have to admit as a native speaker it's the first time I hear this word. "学无止境" is used more commonly.
06:01:40
@rdfg77:kde.orglinsui In Izzy's article, they use German quotation marks „ “ in English. Should I keep this in Chinese translation? 06:05:26
@_oftc_Licaon_Kter[xmpp]:matrix.orgLicaon_Kter[xmpp] linsui: found them odd too, eg. In Romanian they are correct, but not sure in Englis 06:08:02

Never saw this in English. Not sure should we keep the German flavor.
06:09:04
@gunchleoc:glasgow.socialGunChleoc (co-shaoghal.net)That was probably an error if he composed it in an editor that has magic quotes and the language was set to German. Programmers don't always understand typography.06:42:08
@SylvieLorxu:matrix.orgSylviaIf someone can give me instructions on how to set up a Telegram bridge I could set it up (given I have an account). Although it stays odd to me to have different people control F-Droid and F-Droid Translators Telegram 😅07:11:30
@rdfg77:kde.orglinsuiIt's very easy IIRC.07:12:29

@rdfg77:kde.orglinsuiIs the F-Droid Telegram room controled by a member who has left?07:18:07
