proletarius101 | OK, i'll stop since i think it degrades the experience in all shapes | 10:02:53 |
_hc | are you ok with me merging 876 with fdroid dark blue as the background? | 10:05:51 |
Andreas | In reply to @eighthave:matrix.org
fdroid build is used out of git in production without tags I understand. But still at some point wouldn't you want to release a version, so that people who use the fdroidserver as a client/tool (like me) get access to the latest improvements as well? I take it version 2.1 could perhaps be that version β is there any idea about a release timeframe? | 10:15:48 |
_hc | yes, we do make releases for exactly like that purpose. That would cover fdroid signatures . We don't have the contributions now to consider the tagged releases as supported for fdroid built . | 10:22:29 |
_hc | there is currently no release timeline set for 2.1. I would certainly want to have it done for the next Debian/Ubuntu freeze | 10:23:45 |
jochensp | Andreas: also note that Debian is currently frozen so there is not much Ubuntu Impish can pick up right now | 10:26:54 |
_hc | it takes from sid | 10:31:05 |
_hc | but that doesn't freeze for a bit I think | 10:31:19 |
_hc | https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/impish-indri-release-schedule/18540 | 10:31:56 |
_hc | August 19th | 10:32:05 |
jochensp | _hc: sid is frozen for new upstream versions since March: https://release.debian.org/bullseye/freeze_policy.html | 10:38:36 |
_hc | oh, that's a new policy | 10:54:06 |
_hc | proletarius101: you have a bunch of merge requests slated for 1.13 that are awaiting your response, for example https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroidclient/-/merge_requests/1015 | 10:55:39 |
_hc | and https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroidclient/-/merge_requests/1016 | 10:56:20 |
_hc | and https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroidclient/-/merge_requests/1025, which is a big improvement that would be great to have merged | 10:59:37 |
Licaon_Kter[xmpp] | _hc: More untranslatable strings | 14:12:59 |
Licaon_Kter[xmpp] | Under donate - "More Options" | 14:13:00 |
Licaon_Kter[xmpp] | Footer way below - "F-Droid is an installable catalogue of FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) applications for the Android platform. The client makes it easy to browse, install, and keep track of updates on your device. (F-Droid 2021-06-24, fdroid-website 2.57-18-gb4b5ddc4)" | 14:13:00 |
Licaon_Kter[xmpp] | Also _hc when I go to News, the posts are still in English, while posts are translated, is that expected? | 14:26:35 |
tengel | apologies if this is a bad question, but I'm trying to understand the conceptual "why is this not in the build pipeline" as a new-to-dev person | 14:30:19 |
tengel | https://monitor.f-droid.org/builds/running doesn't reflect this commit (the newest one 3 days ago) https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroiddata/-/commits/master/metadata/org.quantumbadger.redreader.yml | 14:30:42 |
tengel | is it because the builds appear to have stalled (?) on 6-25? | 14:31:49 |
jochensp | tengel: the build server is going in cycles: build, sign, publish, repeat Currently it finished with build and as signing is manual it is waiting for that | 14:32:24 |
| * tengel nods gotcha! thanks | 14:33:33 |
tengel | I guess there's one signing key which has limited people with access (security etc.), so we just have to wait for someone with access and free time to crunch through all the signing | 14:34:41 |
jochensp | yes | 14:34:54 |
tengel | I sure hope that's automated for those folks, sounds like gruntwork | 14:35:02 |
εΉΈη« (πππΎπ/πππΎπ) | In reply to @andreas:schildbach.de Cool! I'd like to get Bitcoin Wallet to a recent state. I'd like to start with the old version 7.34 which is already in the metadata for months. Do I need to make changes to de.schildbach.wallet.yml , except the removing of the disable? Unfortunately, that version wasn't actually reproducible: "434 has differences in XML files" https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroidserver/-/issues/891 | 19:45:26 |
εΉΈη« (πππΎπ/πππΎπ) | Andreas: apksigcopier is now in Debian unstable, so you could use that for the signature extraction (though you'd have to pass it the correct output directory manually). | 19:53:24 |
εΉΈη« (πππΎπ/πππΎπ) | _hc ^ which now makes me a Debian (supported) Maintainer :) | 19:56:28 |
