rando | In reply to @_oftc_Licaon_Kter[xmpp]:matrix.org rando: what is bad? :) anchor links not showing? | 09:29:04 |
rando | or u missed it? what client btw? | 09:29:19 |
Licaon_Kter[xmpp] | Not sure which anchor links you talk about | 09:36:46 |
Licaon_Kter[xmpp] | I did see your link, and not sure what your issue is. That's the text shown in the Updates tab, so users can choose to "update all" or expand the listing and "update one/two/etc" | 09:36:49 |

Licaon_Kter[xmpp] | Conversations over a hosted Biboumi bridge :) | 09:37:16 |
George | In reply to @_oftc_Licaon_Kter[xmpp]:matrix.org I did see your link, and not sure what your issue is. That's the text shown in the Updates tab, so users can choose to "update all" or expand the listing and "update one/two/etc" Key word: choose. The wording currently pushes a user to update all apps. It should be a simple statement that updates are available.
Also, this string is truncated. It only displays the first line in a toast: https://hosted.weblate.org/translate/f-droid/f-droid/en/?checksum=87fd8aaaedef575f | 10:00:53 |
Licaon_Kter[xmpp] | The info is about the button, if they want ok, if not, still ok. Not sure where the pressure comes from, I mean they chose to "check for updates" or "autoupdate" elsewhere, this is the just next step. :) | 10:14:36 |

It's „Download update for %1$d app.“ See the link. | 10:46:40 |
Licaon_Kter[xmpp] | George: if you look at the link (https://hosted.weblate.org/translate/f-droid/f-droid/en/?checksum=a16924d254c6dca3 yes?) in the right side, there's a screenshot to see it how it looks in the app. | 11:09:34 |
critdroid | George "Download" is not part of a noun but a verb in this context. So an addition of "is/are available" doesn't make sense here. | 11:15:30 |
luke ∞ | Download is definitely an annoying thing to translate in pt ^-^ | 11:18:00 |

Licaon_Kter[xmpp] | > Maybe also adding a colon instead of a period? | 11:18:16 |
Licaon_Kter[xmpp] | Good idea! | 11:18:17 |
_hc | Maybe just use a word like "get" in stead of download. | 11:22:04 |
George | In reply to @critdroid:matrix.org George "Download" is not part of a noun but a verb in this context. So an addition of "is/are available" doesn't make sense here. My suggestion was to remove the verb altogether: "Update for %1$d app is available / Updates for %1$d apps are available." It's just a statement/notification, and below the text is a list of apps (so that's why I suggested a colon). | 11:29:29 |

Licaon_Kter[xmpp] | You're in the Update tab... updates are... a given here... | 11:53:40 |
Licaon_Kter[xmpp] | Download means "download only" on Android 11 or older. | 11:53:40 |
Licaon_Kter[xmpp] | On 12 or later, that "download" will mean "update" too. But it was decided to keep it like this for now. | 11:54:14 |
_hc | Its a command/verb there because touching it initiates the action. | 11:56:31 |
George | In reply to @eighthave:matrix.org Its a command/verb there because touching it initiates the action. No, it's plain text from the left side of the "Update all" button. That's why having a verb there confused me at first. To me, it makes more sense to have a descriptive text, a notice, if you will. Or at least "You can download updates for %1$d apps" instead of having the imperative mood there. | 12:07:09 |
